Congrats to Domenik Hixon

New York Giants wide receiver has had a couple very good weeks recently. On Dec. 6, against the Cowboys, he returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown. Then, on Dec. 13, against the Eagles, he caught a 61-yard touchdown pass.

Maybe his recent streak is because of healthy eating. Or karma.

See, back in August, during the Giants’ training camp, I photographed Domenik for the Giants and the American Heart Association. The photos were for a healthy eating campaign. I made portraits of Domenik catching healthy foods and playing with kids. The guy was awesome to work with. He made time to chit chat with all of the kids and he was a gentleman to the adults.

This may not sound like a big deal. You might say, “Well, how else would he act?” But the guy was in the middle of two-a-days. He had to be physically (and mentally) spent. Nevertheless, he was funny: When he was asked to run a route and catch a pinapple, he laughed and said, “OK, but you can explain it to Coach (Tom Coughlin) if I get hurt catching a pineapple.”

So, it’s nice to see Domenik having success with the Giants! I’m not a Giants fan, but I hope he keeps up the good work! Keep catching footballs like they’re pineapples!
